We’ve assembled a list of SEO terms. The following list is the terms most reviewed by our customers. If at any point you have a question please do not hesitate to ask us. We will be glad to answer any and all of your questions.

Keyword Research

Keyword research is a practice used by search engine optimization professionals to find and research actual search terms people enter into the search engines when conducting a search.

On-Page-Optimization

The area of search engine optimization that applies to the content and structure of the website.

Social Sharing Like Button

A like button, like option or recommend button is a feature in communication software such as social networking services, Internet forums, news websites and blogs where the user can express that he/she likes, enjoys or supports certain content.

Website Feed Submission or RSS Feed

RSS (Rich Site Summary); originally RDF Site Summary; often dubbed Really Simple Syndication, uses a family of standard web feed formats to publish frequently updated information: blog entries, news headlines, audio, video.

Article Authoring and Submission

Generally refers to the writing of articles that are relevant to your online business and then getting them added to the popular article submission directories.  The main purpose behind article submission is to attract a large number of visitors (and links) to your website.

Directory Submissions

The act of supplying a URL and a website’s description to a web directory in an attempt to make a search engine aware of a site or page. Search engines often refer to directories when gathering information about a specific website. There are over 75,000 directories available we will find the ones that are right for your business.

  • Free Directories: Directories that don’t charge for each submission. This process takes longer, up to 90-days, for a submission to be published and it’s not guaranteed. We only use directories that use humans in the approval process.
  • Premium Directories: Directories that charge for each submission. This process takes much less time, up to 72 hours, for a submission to be published although it’s not guaranteed, we will receive a response within the 72 hours letting us know that we need to make changes for it to be approved. We only use premium directories that use humans in the approval process.

Social Bookmarking

A social bookmarking service is a centralized online service which enables users to add, annotate, edit, and share bookmarks of web documents. Many online bookmark management services have launched since 1996; Delicious, founded in 2003, popularized the terms “social bookmarking” and “tagging”

Traditional Link Building

  • A time consuming and difficult process of manually notifying the webmaster from a relevant and highly-ranked website that our client’s website is informative, authoritative and they are welcome to reference data on the client’s site. The webmaster is supplied suggested contextual links containing the campaign keywords.
  • Building HTML contextual back-links through comments, guest blogging, forums, YouTube and many others.

AboutUS.org

Another source for link building and adding more information about you, your business and or you website. AboutUs.org utilizes the WiKi editor, a tutorial is provided, to code the web page or website. To receive credit for back-links you must request the removal of the “nofollow” tag to, nofollow@aboutus.org for a review.

Here is the Wikipedia description for AboutUs.org: “AboutUs.org is a wiki Internet domain directory. It lists websites along with information about their content. As a wiki, AboutUs allows Internet users to add entries or modify information.”

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a service offered by Google that generates detailed statistics about a website’s traffic and traffic sources and measures conversions and sales.

Pay-Per-Click

A business model whereby a company that has placed an advertisement on a website pays a sum of money to the host website when a user clicks on to the advertisement.

Local SEO

Creating and editing a local search engine account. The Mosaic SEO campaign will maintain and update information in services such as Google Maps, Bing Maps, Yahoo Local, Yext Local Data Cloud and Manta. This will help better promote your business locally.
